41-Year-Old Legend Mathieu Valbuena Makes Shock Debut for Santa Lucia FC!
French football icon Mathieu Valbuena has officially proven that age is just a number! At 41 years old, the former Marseille, Lyon, Fenerbahçe, and France national team playmaker has sent shockwaves across the football world after making his official debut for Santa Lucia FC in Malta.

A Blockbuster Move Nobody Saw Coming!
Following a stint supporting Olympiacos’ B team in Greece, many expected the pocket-dynamo midfielder to hang up his boots for good. Instead, Valbuena dropped a massive summer bombshell by signing a one-year deal (with an option for another season) with the Maltese second-tier side.
Fans in Malta were left stunned as the veteran French star swapped massive European nights and Champions League action for the sun-soaked pitches of Santa Lucia!
“Petit Vélo” Hits the Pitch in Malta
Nicknamed “Petit Vélo” (Little Bike) for his tiny 1.67m frame and tireless work rate, Valbuena showed he hasn’t lost any of that classic French flair during his first outing. Dressed in the Santa Lucia colors, the veteran creator immediately started pulling the strings in midfield, proving he still possesses the precise passing and sharp footballing brain that once tormented defenders at the highest level!
