Żabbar St. Patrick Football Club has officially appointed globe-trotting Italian manager Adolfo Sormani as their new Head Coach in a massive statement of intent for the Malta Premier League club!
Fresh off the back of Gilbert Agius’ heroic departure after saving the Saints from relegation, Żabbar bosses moved swiftly to secure a massive upgrade on the touchline.
The 60-year-old UEFA Pro Licence holder brings a star-studded resume to Malta, having previously coached in the elite youth setups of Italian giants Juventus and Napoli. English football fans will also remember Sormani as Gianfranco Zola’s right-hand man during their memorable spell at Watford!
Sormani is no stranger to silverware or drama. He masterminded promotion to the Danish Superliga with Vejle Boldklub and arrives straight from a trophy-packed run at Faroese side HB Tórshavn, where he lifted the Faroese Cup and two Super Cups.
The tactical mastermind—who speaks fluent Italian, English, and Portuguese—isn’t coming alone. Joining him in the Żabbar dugout as Technical Collaborator is his trusted right-hand man Giovanni Mazzella.
In an official statement welcoming the Italian duo, the club declared: “We welcome Adolfo and Giovanni to Żabbar St. Patrick F.C. and wish them every success as they begin this new chapter with the Club. Benvenuti, Mister Sormani & Giovanni!”
Can the former Juventus man lead the Saints to glory in Malta’s top flight? Strap in, Saints fans—the Sormani era has officially begun!
